Can I cancel an order made online?
Order cancellations are subject to our Terms and Conditions and cannot be done online. Please contact our team on 0121 767 3253 or email us on eventorders@thenec.co.uk

Are the services supported on site?
Yes. Our team are available for you before and during the event. Please call 0121 767 3253 from a mobile or landline. You can also use any of the red hotline phones found in the Organiser's offices during tenancy.

How far in advance can I order?
You can order services as far in advance as you wish. However, please note that orders placed within 28 days of the tenancy of the show (first day of build) will be surcharged 20% higher than the Standard price. Orders placed onsite will be surcharged 30% higher than the Late price.

Do I need electricity on my stand?
Contact the exhibitor organiser to find out who the nominated stand wiring contractor is.

Can I be invoiced after the show?
Orders have to be paid for prior to the event to ensure delivery.

Can I amend items for dietary requirements?
We will always work to accommodate dietary requirements where possible. Please speak to a member of our team on 0121 767 3253 or email us eventorders@thenec.co.uk if you would like to request an alteration to a listed food item.

Could I change the times and dates that my food is delivered?
If you would like to change the date or time please do this in advance. Call us immediately and let us know preferably 5 days in advance so we can make the changes on our system.

What if there is something I want to order that is not available online?
Please contact your show Catering Account Manager who will be able to advise further.

Can I place orders on site?
Orders placed onsite are subject to availability. It is advisable to place your order online prior to the event, to ensure items are available. Onsite orders will be delivered during the next available time slot.

Do you serve or lay out my food/drinks?
We offer a stand delivery service only. If you require a hospitality and service based offer, please contact the relevant Catering Account Manager for the event who will advise on our hospitality service.

Are food and beverages supplied with accompanying items?
Unless stated all accompanying items must be ordered.

Do I need electricity on my stand?
All electrical items are fitted with a 3 pin plug and require 13amp socket. Power requirements are listed under each item. Please refer to your exhibitor manual for contractor details.

When do you collect the hired equipment from the stand?
Equipment will be collected at the end of show unless otherwise specified.

Can I return unopened goods after the event?
We do not accept any returns at the end of an event.

My order was wrong or incomplete, can I ask for a refund?
We aim to rectify mistakes on the day of delivery. If you think that your order is incorrect you must contact the stand catering team within 24hrs of the scheduled delivery or out Venue Services support team on 0121 767 3253.

Can I bring my own food and/or beverage to my stand?
Under specific circumstances food and drink may be served as hospitality on stand. Regulations regarding food safety and licensing legislation will always apply. Please check with your show Catering Account Manager regarding supply of any third-party supply of Food and Beverage

How is the internet connection delivered to my stand?
Our hardwired internet is accessed via a cable pulled from the floor. You will find this when you arrive on site, coiled on the floor, and labelled for your stand. The connection will usually be made live on or before the last day of build.

Is my internet supported on site?
Yes. Call us on 0121 767 3253. Skilled Event IT Engineers are available to help you stay connected whilst you are onsite.

Why do I need to submit a stand plan?
Our services are pulled from floor ducts running the throughout the halls. We need to know where the connection is required so that this can be installed before your arrival to site. Without this information the service will be pulled to the centre of the stand. Please be aware that moving the cable or pipe will be subject to access for our teams and may incur additional cost.

How is the Priority Wi-Fi superior to the Free Wi-Fi?
The venue offers free standard Wi-Fi across site. This is a standard speed connection for all visitors, suitable for checking e-mails and social media. When ordering our Priority Wi-Fi, you can order a higher bandwidth speed and benefit from the support of your Helpdesk and Event IT Engineers to provide help connecting should you need it.

Do you provide Wi-Fi routers that I can use with the Hardwired Internet Connection that I have ordered.
We do not provide routers. You will have to bring your own.

Will I be sharing bandwith with any other stand?
There is no contention ratio on the line so you will be guaranteed to receive the full bandwidth ordered and will not share this with any other stand

Will I require a username and password to access the Internet?
No, you will not. Our IP addresses are set via DHCP. You should be able to access the internet once the cable is connected to your equipment.

What is the uploading and downloading speed of the connection?
The connection is a symmetrical line which offers the same uploading and downloading speeds. For example, a 1mbps connection will offer a 1mbps upload speed and a 1mbps download speed.

If I purchase an 8 port switch, will I require an additional IP address?
If you are to use an 8 port switch, for each additional user/ device you are connecting you will need an additional IP address. Please note that using an 8 port switch will also split the speed ordered between the number of devices connected.

What is a static IP address?
IP addresses that never change. They serve as a permanent Internet address and provide a simple and reliable way for remote computers to contact you. This differs from a dynamic IP address that will be changed often, based on when you access the Internet. If you are not communicating with another device- you will not require a static IP. A static IP can only be ordered in line with a 10mbps connection or a 100mbps connection.

Will I be able to attach more than one telephone handset to one analogue phone line?
Yes. You will require a BT Splitter to connect to the end of the provided telephone line to allow for multiple handsets. However, only one device can be used at any one time.

Would it be my responsibility to route the ordered cable to my desired location?
Yes. Our engineers will provide a cable with a certain meterage available to you based on the size of your stand. It would be your responsibility to ensure your cable is routed to the correct location during the build.

Can I split my hardwired connection?
Yes. We can provide you with an 8-Port or 24-Port switch which splits your existing connection to another 7 or 23 devices respectively.

Why do I need to submit a stand plan?

Can I have help connecting the pipework to my sink/machinery?
When you are ready for the pipework to be connected, please call us on 0121 767 3253 and we can send a qualified plumber to your stand.

Can I make the connection myself?
Compressed Air or Water/Waste: If you have trained technicians for your machinery on-hand, or are confident to connect the sink yourself, you can make your own connection. The air or water pipe will have a valve or tap at the end on the stand. You can turn the supply on when you have made the connection.
Natural Gas: Gas connections must be made and tested by qualified engineers. This can be ordered directly from our team but if you prefer to test the connection yourself, the supply will not be turned on without proof of qualification and competency of the engineer making and testing the connection.

When will the supply be switched on?
The pipework will be ready on your stand when you arrive with a tap or valve at the end. The supply will be switched on before or during the last day of build. If you find that the supply is not on when required, please call us on 0121 767 3253.

Can I connect two appliances with one connection?
No, you are required to order an additional connection. Both appliances must be with 3 metres of each other (1 metre for natural gas).

Do I need to platform over the services and how high does this need to be?
A platform that is at least 80mm high will be required to cover the pipework.

Is the water drinkable?
Yes, however, it is advised that at least 5 litres of water is run off before.

What should I do if I require Clean air?
Should you require clean air on any of the equipment that is going to be used then please call 0121 767 3253 and we will put you in touch with the technical department.

Will my stand be cleaned daily after the show closes?
Cleaning is included in your stand package. We provide an overnight stand cleaning service, including vacuuming of floors at no additional cost on all accessible stand areas (Mopping of hard floors will also be included in the service).

How do I place an order for skip hire/ removal of larger waste items?
This can be arranged by the venue. Quotations will be available on request. Please call 0121 767 3253 from a mobile or landline to speak with one of our sales consultants, or can be ordered via email on: eventorders@thenec.co.uk

How can I contact the helpdesk to report spillages etc?
Our team are available for you before and during the event. Please call 0121 767 3253 from a mobile or landline. You can also use any red hotline phone, found in the Organiser's offices during tenancy.

Do you provide a general waste bin for my stand?
Unfortunately, we do not offer the general household bins. However, if you give Venue Operations a call on 0121 767 3939 they will be able to issue a cleaner to your stand who can dispose of your bin bags whilst the show is live.

How do I get to the NEC?
The NEC is the UK's best connected venue so by whether travelling to us by air, rail or road - the choice is yours. Simply head to our Getting Here page for more information.

What are my parking options?
For all the information you could ever need on charges, passes and opening times, simply head to our Exhibitor Parking page.

Is on-site transport available?
<p>We operate a free shuttle bus service between all car parks and halls during exhibitions. These usually start running one hour before the event and stop one hour after the event. This means buses might not be running for your build and breakdown but may be running for other shows that are open.</p>

Can I charge my electric car?
Yes. There are 22 slow charging EV points in selected car parks. This free service is available on a first come first served basis. There are 14 across our car parks, with two located in North 2, six in East 1 and a further six in South 7. We also have 8 pre-spaces in Express 1 (charges apply), for those wanting to guarantee a spot.

How do I get to the train station?
The NEC is located a five-minute covered walk from Birmingham International Railway Station. Follow signage from the Piazza concourse past Hall 2 and up the escalator to the bridge link - which directly links to the railway station.

How far away is the airport from the NEC?
To reach the airport on foot, follow the signs from the NEC to Birmingham International Station. Walk across the covered bridgelink and carry on until you reach the Air-Rail Link. This will take you to the airport on the first floor.

How far is Birmingham City Centre?
It's approximately 14 miles by car or a 10 minute train ride from the NEC. Buses are also available from Birmingham International Rail station.

Can I leave my commercial vehicle overnight?
Please speak with our traffic team when you arrive at the NEC, it may be possible to leave your commercial vehicle overnight, although not for every show. Please be aware spaces are limited and subject to availability. Unfortunately, overnight sleeping in commercial vehicles is not permitted, however you can find a host of hotels right on your doorstep.

Where can I find a petrol station?
Low on fuel? Fear not, the nearest petrol station is on the A45 next to the Arden Hotel. Download our site map for details.

What’s available at the lorry parks?
You’ll find toilet blocks in the lorry parks at North 12 and South 2, with fresh drinking water available on tap to keep you refreshed. If you’re looking to fuel up on food, you’ll find a host of dining options inside the main buildings.

Do you provide Wi-Fi access?
We understand the need to stay connected, which is why we provide free visitor Wi-Fi across the NEC - no code required. NEC Free Wi-Fi is ideal for browsing the web, checking emails or using social networks. This free service should not be used where the connection is integral to the operation of your event or exhibition stand. If you're an Organiser or Exhibitor and looking for a faster connection, please contact our Venue Services Team on 0121 767 3253 who will be happy to talk you through your options.

Where is the nearest cash point?
You’ll find portable cash dispensers (withdrawal fees apply) around the venue, while free cash machines can be found at the train station.

Do you have cloakroom facilities?
If you’re looking to take the load off and leave your coat or bags for the day, take advantage of our cloakroom facilities that are available next to our halls (cloakrooms are open 30 minutes prior the event opening and close when the event closes). Items are charged at £2 per coat and £3 per bag. Unfortunately, we’re currently unable to offer overnight storage lockers or 24 hour cloakroom facilities.

Where is the nearest toilet facility?
Toilets are located in every hall plus on the Piazza and Atrium concourse.

Do you have a lost property area?
It happens to us all, so if you’ve lost something at the NEC head to our Security Office at either the Piazza or Atrium and we’ll do our best to help. Alternatively, call our Lost Property Department on 0121 767 3883.

Where are the smoking areas outside the venue?
Smoking areas are located outside the Piazza main entrance, in the Piazza gardens and outside the Atrium main entrance.

Do you have phone charging facilities?
Yes. We have a number of charging points and lockers across the venue for you to recharge your phone during your visit.

Is there a shop or newsagents on-site?
Yes. Londis newsagents offers a variety of everyday essentials with two across the venue, one located in the Piazza and the other in the Atrium. Alternatively, there's a Spar at the airport which is accessible from the NEC via a walk and 90 second mono rail link.

Is medical assistance available at the venue?
We always have trained first aid staff available in the event of an accident or incident. Just ask the nearest member of staff for immediate assistance.

Do you provide a stand building service?

Are children permitted in halls during build/breakdown?
Sorry, but as our halls are busy working environments we don’t allow anyone under the age of 16 in the halls during build and breakdown.

Is there somewhere to wash my paintbrushes?
Absolutely. Every hall has a painters’ cupboard with a water supply and large sink available during build and breakdown. We’re sure you’ll keep it clean, but in the event of a spillage simply let our security team know and they’ll get it cleaned up. Please note, we don’t permit exhibitors to connect hoses to these sinks.

What happens if I have a spillage or breakage?
We’ve all done it, so don’t worry. Just ask your organiser to arrange for our cleaning team to visit your stand.

Are trollies, pump trucks and porters available?
We don’t currently provide or offer for hire trollies, pump trucks or porters, but you’re very welcome to bring your own. Every event we host does however have a nominated lifting contractor who’ll deliver materials to your stand in double-quick time. Ask your organiser for details.

Can I store my empty packing cases?
In the interests of safety we’re unable to provide our own storage facilities at the NEC, however the lifting contractor at your event will be able to help you out. You’ll find all the details in the Exhibitor Manual your organiser provided.

Where can I obtain plastic bin bags?
Simply contact your organiser and they’ll let us know you need some bags, which we’ll then deliver straight to your stand.

Can I film at an event?
It's always best to check with the organiser directly before visiting as you may need permission.

Where is the Resorts World Arena?
Resorts World Arena is located on the NEC campus. It is located next to The Bear Grylls Adventure which sits between the NEC and Resorts World. If you visit the NEC campus, the Arena will be clearly signposted.

What leisure, retail and food & drink places are there on site?
The Bear Grylls Adventure, Resorts World Birmingham and Resorts World Arena are all on located on the NEC Campus. Resorts World Birmingham is home to a broad range of places to eat and drink, from favourites like Miller & Carter and Zizzi to somewhere a little more special like Sky by the Water.

Are there restaurants on-site?
Yes, we have restaurants available across the venue, within your event halls and across the NEC campus for a range of food options to suit your budget. Whatever you fancy, the campus has a range of delights from Sky By The Water to the Gourmet Burger Kitchen to TGI Fridays or Nandos. Whether it’s food on the go or fine dining, there is something for everyone.

Where’s the best place to get a coffee?
There's food and drink outlets located around the concourse areas near to where your event is taking place. For coffee in particular, this includes Starbucks which is located in the Piazza by Hall 5 and one in the Atrium opposite Hall 7.

Security

What are your current security measures?
At the NEC we are constantly reviewing our measures to ensure that they remain effective and proportionate. West Midlands Police and Counter Terrorist Security Advisors work in partnership with us at the venue, often deploying a variety of resources to work alongside those of our team. These include a number of overt and covert security measures, so whilst you may not see all operational security activity, you should be assured that it is on-going, often behind the scenes to prevent crime and keep you safe whilst you enjoy your visit.

Do you have a lost property area?
It happens to us all, so if you’ve lost something at the NEC head to our Security Office at either the Piazza or Atrium and we’ll do our best to help. Alternatively, call our Lost Property Department on 0121 767 3883.

What items are not permitted?
Alcohol is not permitted, as we are a licenced premises. Also other items which may be classed as a security issue should not be brought into the venue.

Will I be searched when I enter the venue?
You may be searched, as we do carry out random bag searches. Security arches are also in operation at the venue.

What do I do if I see something that doesn’t look right?
Our security teams work hard to keep you safe, please help them by co-operating with their requests. You have an important role to play in helping us by reporting anything that doesn’t feel right, for example any unattended items or someone acting suspiciously. You can report anything suspicious to any of our security officers or the Police.

Is the NEC accessible for disabled visitors?
Absolutely. We’ve worked tirelessly to make our venue fully accessible to all our guests. Head to our Accessibility page for further details. And if you can think of any other ways we could improve our accessibility, we’d love to hear them.

Do you have disabled toilets and changing facilities?
In addition to our standard disabled toilets we have Changing Places toilets, which provide additional space for up to two carers. They also includes height-adjustable changing benches and a hoist system.

Can I hire mobility scooters and wheelchairs?
Yes, you can hire mobility equipment when you visit the NEC. You can find out how to book mobility hire before arriving here under 'Mobility Equipment Hire | Getting around'.

Can I bring my assistance dog?
Yes, assistance dogs are permitted on our premises, though we do not recommend that you bring them to events where noise levels are high.
We ask visitors to make sure their dog is either identifiable as a trained assistance/guide dog or that they can provide the necessary training paperwork for them if requested. Dogs should be kept on a lead/harness at all times.

Lifts are located and signposted on the Atrium and Piazza concourses and by all the escalators.
